我猜是因为当初 Google material design 只出了一个设计上的 spec，没出代码，所以一群第三方库就先冒出来了。
反正 Android 上是这样的

个人最喜欢 MDUI，细节做得比较好。

material.io 的 css 是 2016 年末才发布的，所以之前的时间基本都是使用第三方

对的，最早官方只出 specs 没给网页库，就冒出来一堆第三方的。后来官方先是出了 getmdl.io ，嗯就是 Lite，能勉强用（ Google Developers 前端就是基于 MDL 早期版本搭的）。material.io 的 Web Components 是 MDL 的升级替代。
