    Salary & Benefits: RMB132,000 to RMB188,000 per annum before all deductions, depending on qualifications and experience
    Working Location: Ningbo

    Job Outline
    The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, analysing, and providing technical support and consultancies for data and communication network or group of networks and growing needs. To conduct research and evaluation of network technology and recommend purchases of network and security equipment. To apply security policies and standards to prevent cyber-attacks and protect the University Information Properties. Will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network and security architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.


    Qualifications
    Essential
    • Bachelors or above in Information Technology, Computer Sciences and related disciplines;
    • Minimum of two years of professional network experience;
    • Proven ability to understand enterprise-level network topologies and actual operational skills in managing the University ’ s network;
    • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., HSRP, OSPF, SIP, BGP, IPsec, MPLS and 802.1x);
    • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model;
    • Ability to analyse the security measures and determine how to best adjust and suggest to improve the University ’ s security;
    • Ability to develop reports to share with other administrators and leaders about the efficiency of security policies and recommend any changes;
    • Ability to establish system controls by developing framework for controls and levels of access;
    • Ability to acquire new technical IT skills in a rapidly changing discipline;
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written);
    • Good organisational, problem-solving and analytical skills;
    • Hands-on experience and skills in configuring and installing network and security devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, WLAN, VPN, VoIP, QoS);
    • Experience of dealing with complex and specialist technical issues related to network and security;
    • Committed positive and proactive approach to customer care;
    • Must be able and prepared to work under pressure;
    • Ability to work flexibly and to provide some out of hours support;
    • Ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a team;
    • Ability to work accurately under pressure;
    • Attention to details;
    • Can-do attitude.
    Desirable
    • Master degree;
    • Relevant IT Certifications (e.g. CCNP or higher, CISSP, RHCE, ITIL);
    • Wide range of knowledge and IT skills in NGFW, Congestion Control, Encryption and other related areas;
    • Consistent experience of working at network areas;
    • Knowledge of diverse IT resources;
    • Good methodical and analytical skills;
    • Good time management and reasoning skills;
    • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities
    • Consult and evaluate requirements, recommend designs, provide cost analyses, plan projects, and coordinate tasks for installation of data/voice networks;
    • Analyze and resolve technical problems for established networks;
    • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructures;
    • Serve as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies;
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network production problems;
    • Conduct technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system;
    • Oversee and supervise third-party vendors and suppliers ’ network components installation, configuration and maintenance;
    • Work with third-party vendors to resolve complex network problems;
    • Evaluate and recommend network solutions for short-, medium-, and long-term network projects;
    • Determine plan layout for new hardware or modifications to existing layout;
    • Document network problems and resolutions for future reference;
    • Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as system administrators to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems;
    • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network;
    • Monitor the University ’ s networks for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs;
    • Install and use software and hardware, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information;
    • Prepare reports that document security breaches and the extent of the damage caused by the breaches;
    • Conduct penetration testing, which is when analysts simulate attacks to look for vulnerabilities in University systems before they can be exploited;
    • Research the latest information technology (IT) security trends;
    • Help plan and carry out policies of handling security;
    • Develop security standards and best practices;
    • Recommend security enhancements to management or senior IT staff;
    • Help customers when they need to install or learn about new security products and procedures;
    • Performs related duties as required, some out of hours on-call support will be required;
    • Any other duties appropriate to the grade and role of the person appointed.
