Duties & Responsibilities:
1) Understand and analyze user needs, research markets and competitors
2) Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define requirements via empirical data, usability studies, market research, and proven user centered design principle
3) Work with the team to develop early concept sketches and mood boards for new projects
4) Support development team by providing graphic assets and production art, translate the desired product user experience into the reality of the product; build and launch new products and features
Required Skills:
1) A strong sense of concept development, layout composition, color theory and typography as demonstrated by a portfolio
2) In-depth knowledge of user interface design principles, human factors, user-centered design processes and interaction design guidelines
3) Command of common design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator) & knowledge of web standards such as HTML and CSS. Ability to prototype in HTML, CSS. Intermediate Javascript/JQuery would be a plus.
4) Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and must be an excellent listener; strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong UI documentation/prototype ability
Required Experience:
1) Minimum 2 years of HCI Design in Web-based applications.
2) Interdisciplinary educational background with majors in Art/design, technology or business.
